BTWShiells sponsored charity cycle

BTWShiells sponsored charity cycle

As you may be aware, BTWShiells are organising a sponsored charity cycle from the 31st May to the 2nd June 2013.  This challenge will commence at Marshes Shopping Centre in Dundalk and will be cycling to Foyleside Shopping Centre in Derry-Londonderry, stopping at every one of our Shopping Centres en route.  The complete tour will involve a cycle of circa 213 miles.

We will be raising money from each of our managed Shopping Centres (we are looking to raise at least one pound per mile i.e. £213 from each of the Centres in Northern Ireland / Eire, although donations from Centres across the water are very much appreciated) and I will follow up with you individually next week to discuss ideas for Centre level fundraising. The team members will also add to this through our own individual sponsorship initiatives and hence I would encourage you to speak to us directly if you would like to sponsor us.

Each days cycling will involve the following;
Day One
Marshes Shopping Centre, Dundalk - Buttercrane Shopping Centre, Newry - The Mall, Armagh - Oaks Shopping Centre, Dungannon - High Street Mall, Portadown.
Day Two
High Street Mall, Portadown - Forestside Shopping Centre, Belfast - Ards Shopping Centre, Newtownards - Victoria Square, Belfast - Kennedy Centre, Belfast - Abbeycentre, Belfast
Day Three
Abbeycentre, Belfast - Meadowlane Shopping Centre, Magherafelt - Foyleside Shopping Centre, Derry-Londonderry

As I am sure you will agree, this is a considerable challenge and we will be raising money in support of two very worthwhile charities, namely The Mary Peters Trust and Co-Operation Ireland with a 50/50 split between the two.  I have provided a brief summary of the work that both of these charities do below FYI.

If you are interested in joining myself, Keith Shiells, Harry Traynor and team from Marshes, Lee Cutler from Forestside and Andy Barr from Foyleside in this very worthwhile cause (and challenge!!) please let me know.  Similarly, if you would like to sponsor us, you can do so by speaking to us in person and putting your details down on our sponsorship cards.

Thank you for your support

Team BTW

The Mary Peters Trust is the only Province-wide organisation which can assess sporting need and provide help to individuals from all recognized sports. It works alongside Sport NI and, with the assistance of the Governing Bodies of Sport, makes financial awards towards approved out-of-pocket expenses.

Co-operation Ireland is the leading peace-building charity on the island of Ireland. Since it was established in 1979, Co-operation Ireland has created opportunities for groups from the two main religious communities in Northern Ireland and from both sides of the border to come together so they can learn about each other’s traditions and cultural backgrounds in order to help build a society which is based on tolerance and acceptance of cultural difference
